George Pollock Jr. of Switch and Data named CFO of the Year

  George Pollock Jr., CFO of Switch and Data Facilities Co. Inc., was named the 2009 CFO of the Year at a luncheon hosted by the Tampa Bay Business Journal on Thursday. Pollock also won in the Public Company category.

More than 300 people attended the event at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront, sponsored by Lanier Upshaw, the Florida Institute of CFOs and AvMed Health. Twenty-two finalists were recognized at the event, and winners were awarded in seven categories. Other winners include: Government: Margie Simmons, city of Clearwater Small Private Company: Suzette Sullivan, Ross Vecchio PA Medium Private Company: B. Thomas Henry, Sutter Roofing Co. of Florida Large Private Company: Aris Rogers, America II Corp. Large Nonprofit Organization: Anne Hochsprung, The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast Medium Nonprofit Organization: Stephen F. Garrett, Tampa Preparatory School Judges for the CFO of the Year awards were Charles W. Whetstone, partner with Carr Riggs & Ingram LLC, and Donald Phillips, managing director of Phillips Development & Realty LLC.
